This week's workout is a 20-minute powerful body-conditioning workout which combines metabolism-boosting interval cardio moves with full-body toning exercises which build muscle throughout your entire body. Challenge yourself and be ready to sweat as you work all of your major muscle groups with a variety of exercises including jumping jacks, butt kicks, lateral hops, lunges, bicycles, floor wipers, mountain climbers, burpees, skaters, high knees, toe jumps, heismans, and squat-squat-hops!
Each exercise is done for 1 minute, with 30 seconds of rest in between. This interval-style workout is similar to our favorite PACE Express workout, burning fat, building endurance, and strengthening the entire body in just a few minutes per day!
This workout includes a warmup and cool-down, and all you will need is a towel and a bottle of water, so it can be done anywhere.
Note: This is a high-intensity workout. If you are at a low fitness level, you should consult with your doctor before attempting this workout, or any other new exercise program.

Want To Lose Weight? Watch What You're Drinking!
Everyone knows that losing weight means cutting down on your calorie intake and burning more calories through exercise. However, many people fail to consider the impact that their drinks have on their weight loss goals. Drinks contain calories just like food, but some drinks can even hinder your weight loss efforts in other ways. Here's a quick guide to the main drink categories you need to watch while losing weight.
Alcohol
Many people are good at looking at their diet and knowing what they should and shouldn't eat, but don't take time to look at their alcohol consumption in the same way. Alcohol should be accounted for as part of your daily calorie allowance, so a couple for drinks a day will soon add up!
And they don't call it a "beer belly" for nothing: research has shown that alcohol can actually reduce the rate at which your body burns calories! It can also lead to some pretty unhealthy cravings, so it's important to be careful, and reduce your alcohol intake if your goal is weight loss.
Coffee, Tea and Weight Loss
Some other drinks that many of us have every single day include coffee and tea. But are these helping or hindering your weight loss efforts? Studies have shown that any drinks containing caffeine can interfere with weight loss. The stimulation that occurs after you drink caffeine, whether from coffee, tea or even soda, really isn't good for cravings!
Many of us also even link the drinking of tea or coffee to eating a snack. In this case, even if the coffee itself isn't doing you any harm it's still encouraging your snacking habit, which obviously isn't going to help you lose weight.
Many people drink green tea for weight loss. There's been a lot of hype over this drink in recent years, and studies have shown that green tea extract may help you to lose weight. However, drinking too much green tea means you'll still experience all the negative effects of caffeine listed above. If you want to drink green tea, be sure you do so in moderation, and use a natural non-sugar sweetener like stevia to avoid blood sugar spikes and crashes, which increase snacking.
Juice
Many people switch their unhealthy sodas for juice when trying to lose weight, on the assumption that this is "healthy". While it's true that fruit juice does come with more health benefits than sugary drinks, you still have to be careful about how much you're drinking. Make sure you choose juice without added sugar and include the calories within your daily allowance. Try not to have huge amounts in one go, as you'll want to keep your blood sugar levels stable. Fresh-squeezed juices made yourself, which include more fiber and less sugar, are always better. Also opt for juices that contain vegetables as well as fruit - for more health benefits and less sugar.
Water
When you're trying to lose weight, it's vital that you drink enough water. Not only will you need this to keep you hydrated while you're working out, you'll also want to use it as a way to make losing weight easier. There's no miracle substance for losing weight, but water comes pretty close.
Did you know that what you think is hunger is often thirst? Drinking more water every day can reduce those cravings that encourage you to overeat. And drinking a couple of glasses of water before each meal can help fill you up to prevent overeating. This makes it a lot easier to reduce your portion sizes!
The truth is that water is always best. If you're used to drinking coffee, sugary drinks, alcohol and soda, then gradually replacing them with water will help your weight loss efforts, even if you do nothing else - although of course we don't recommend that!

Video: 10-Minute Killer Ab Workout
This hard-core ab workout is part of Tony Horton's 10-Minute Trainer series - a workout series designed to give you a fast, fun, hard-hitting workout in just 10 minutes - of course you can combine them for a longer workout if you have more than 10 minutes available - but they are great for today's busy person on the go! I throw in one of these every so often when I don't have a lot of time to work out.
This particular workout focuses on the abs and core, working every core muscle from just about every angle imaginable through 20 different exercises. Each exercise is only done for 30 seconds in this one, not the whole minute, so you get lots of variety and hit all the muscles in your center. These aren't just your typical crunches! From Scissor Lift, to Mountain Climbers, to Superman Crunch, your core will get a great variety of challenging moves. There are beginner modifications demonstrated for each move, if your core is not that strong yet - be sure to follow these if needed. You don't really need any equipment for this one other than an exercise mat, so you can do it just about anywhere.
If you want an awesome ab workout that will really give ALL of your core muscles a great workout in just 10 minutes, throw this one into your routine a couple of times per week, and watch your abs get strong and lean just in time for summer!

Review: Wii Fit Plus With Balance Board - Should You Buy This Fitness Game?
Fitness games were relatively unheard of before the Wii Fit came along and changed everything. With its revolutionary balance board, Nintendo somehow managed to combine video games with getting fit! Since then, Wii Fit has been enhanced and added to with the release of Wii Fit Plus. But is it worth your time, money and effort?
What Do You Get With The Wii Fit Plus With Balance Board?
If you never bought the original Wii Fit and balance board then this is the package to get! You'll get the game along with the revolutionary balance board that brought so many people into the new world of fitness gaming.
Some of the features of this package include:
How Does Wii Fit Plus Compare To The Original Wii Fit?
If you already have the original Wii Fit then you can get the upgrade simply by buying the software on its own without the balance board. This game does include the original content of the Wii Fit, but adds a whole other level of gameplay. Some of the new features include mixing and matching strength and yoga activities, and flowing exercises together seamlessly for an effective daily workout routine.
Other new features include:
* A much larger range of customization options,
* "My Routine" allows you to put together your own routines,
* "Favorites" is a collection of workouts you use the most,
* 15 new balance games,
* 6 new strength and yoga activities,
* Users can choose which area of health and fitness to focus on,
* See how many calories you've burned,
* New feature allows users to weigh their cats and dogs.
What Customers Are Saying About Wii Fit Plus
The product has received generally positive reviews, with customers noting how the new game has addressed many of the shortfalls of the original Wii Fit. With the original, while novel and fun, many would soon abandon it due to the lack of ability for seamless workouts and more control over which areas to work on. Customers have mentioned how they're now a lot more motivated to continue exercising with the Wii Fit Plus day after day.
Any Complaints?
Some customers have complained that the new games are mostly added for fun, but will not have much effect when it comes to exercising. There are only 6 new strength and yoga games to help improve fitness. The customized workouts are by far the biggest improvement, but the main drawback of this is that they do not include the aerobic or balance activities.
Conclusion
When the original Wii Fit first made its way into stores it was all we had. However, since then fitness games have come a long way. Many people considered the original Wii Fit too basic to hold their interest, and the new Wii Fit Plus goes a long way to addressing those issues. If you don't already own the balance board then there's no reason to buy the old version over this new improved one. However, if you already own a balance board then it's up to you to compare Wii Fit Plus to other fitness games on the market to find one that matches your exercise goals and interests.

A Guide To The Mental Benefits Of Running
Exercise, in general, can have many emotional benefits, but running has one of the most powerful impacts on your mental state. If you are a runner, you know the feeling – before your run you may have felt tired or stressed about certain life events, then after your run you feel fantastic! It's what they call the "runner's high."
Our minds are very powerful. Our minds control our thoughts and actions, which can often influence our physical health. Of course running is a great exercise for losing weight and building your cardiovascular health, but it also has benefits to the inner essence of our being. Here's how:
1) Decreases Stress
Stress is a mental state of mind. No matter how you may hate to admit it or believe it, you do cause your own stress. When you allow the situations in life to affect you internally, you have given power to that particular situation by feeling stress.
Running allows you to focus more on your breathing and the scenery around you. The deep breathing soothes the feelings of fear and/or anxiety that are associated with stress. Running is like a release button to the stress that accumulates in your body.
2) Increases Self-Esteem
When you are running on a regular basis, your self-esteem slowly starts to increase. You start to feel good about yourself, whether it is the weight loss, weight maintenance, or the health benefits that you receive.
As you have the energy and endurance to run, it gives you a sense of needing to take care of your body, so you are less likely to eat foods that are not good for you, or partake in any unhealthy behavior. You see the benefits that running gives you, and you have a sense of pride and respect for your body.
3) Increases Feeling of Freedom
Running is a great way to feel free – free from all the challenges and obstacles that life sometimes delivers. When you are running, there is a sense of freedom. You can go where you want at the speed you want, and no one and no thoughts can hinder this freedom.
You automatically feel a sense of release from the demanding boss, nagging children, or pushy creditors. Even if for only a moment, you are free and in your own place of silence and calmness that is soothing to both your body and mind. Sometimes it takes physical activity to really quiet our minds – something that is not easy to achieve in modern society.
4) Decreases Depression
When you are running, your brain automatically releases beta endorphins. Beta endorphins are neurotransmitters in the brain that are affected during depression. In depression, the neurotransmitters are not firing properly, and a feeling of overall wellness is decreased.
This is the reason why many feel a “runners’ high” after a run. It is a complete feeling of peacefulness and happiness, as if all the problems of the day have actually disappeared.
Running not only is great exercise, it also has a lot of mental benefits too! As the weather gets warmer, get out and run if you can. If not, try a good treadmill training program that keeps your indoor runs fun and interesting along the way. Yuri Elkaim's Treadmill Trainer is a good one to try.

5 Healthy Breakfast Tips To Help You Lose Weight
If you want to lose weight, or you just want to get healthy, then breakfast should be number one on your list. Even if you're exercising every day, you could be sabotaging your plans by skipping breakfast! And, if you do eat breakfast every day, you may be choosing the wrong foods. Here are 5 healthy breakfast tips to make that first meal of the day a healthy one.
1) Never Skip Breakfast: This is number one on the list of healthy breakfast tips for a very good reason! You may think you're shaving calories off your day by missing breakfast, but it just leaves you more likely to snack on unhealthy foods throughout the morning. Above this, breakfast kickstarts your metabolism, making your body work harder to burn off calories from the meals you eat through the rest of the day.
2) Avoid Sugar: Many of us wrongly assume that all breakfast cereals are healthy. This is far from the truth: many of them are overloaded with sugar. This can lead to weight gain and energy spikes that will leave you feeling sleepy by lunch time.
3) Don't Drink Too Much Juice: Although fruit juice is good for you, this doesn't mean that it's free from calories. The sugar in fruit juice can cause an energy spike, so stick to a small glass and drink water to hydrate you for the day. Drinking more water has the added benefit of helping you to feel fuller and avoid snacking.
4) Start As You Mean To Go On: Think of breakfast as a kick-start for your day, and start with healthy foods that'll give your body the energy you need. This means avoiding fast food and fried breakfasts that'll leave you feeling sluggish at work. Starting the day off on a healthy note will also naturally encourage you to eat healthier throughout the day.
5) Include A Few Superfoods: Superfoods are certain whole foods that known to improve overall health and greatly decrease your risk of developing a range of diseases. Thankfully, many of these are perfect for breakfast. Here are a few top ingredients to get you going: oats, tea, yogurt, berries, nuts and seeds. Even if you only add a handful of these ingredients to your breakfast, it's a good way to make sure you get something healthy into your body to start off the day. An example of a tasty breakfast item that can include multiple superfoods is muffins - try making muffins ahead of time for a quick and healthy breakfast the next morning - try oat muffins with blueberries, nuts, and flax seeds for major superfood power!
If all these healthy breakfast tips seem a little complicated for you when you frequently find yourself rushing around in the mornings, remember to plan ahead. If necessary, prepare your breakfast the night before to make it as easy as possible for you to start the day off on the right foot, and stick to a healthy diet.
Remember that eating right is the other half of weight loss, and will help you meet your exercise and fitness goals that much faster!
